It is well documented that spending a significant amount of time in a particular environment has a substantial impact on each individual. This effect is amplified if the context in question is the workplace, in terms of well-being and, consequently, performance. A number of studies, including the Human Spaces report on biophilic design<\/strong>, demonstrate how contact with nature in the workplace<\/strong> can have a significant impact on employees’ moods and productivity. Consequently, many companies are implementing concepts such as sustainable design or, in some cases, green urban regeneration projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

EuroHive<\/strong>, the new business hub at EUR, has embraced this innovative philosophy and is redefining the very concept of the workplace. EuroHive is conceived as an integral part of the urban fabric, in open dialogue with the historic district of Rome that hosts it. Its internal and external green spaces, pedestrian areas, and connection with the ancient Via Laurentina, a historical and artistic heritage of Rome, create the conditions for a contemporary workspace where being productive does not mean sacrificing sociality or physical and mental well-being. EuroHive’s unique design concept places workspaces and living, leisure, art, and nature areas in close proximity to one another, creating a distinctive work environment. <\/span><\/p>\n

EuroHive is distinguished by its commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as its Well Certification<\/strong>, the only internationally recognised standard for promoting health and well-being in workplaces. This innovative standard encompasses 10 key aspects, including physical elements such as air, water, nutrition, light, movement, materials, thermal and acoustic comfort, as well as psychological and social factors that directly impact employee well-being in the workplace. The Well Certification is a holistic approach<\/strong> to health and well-being that encourages the design of calm and comfortable environments, with measures to promote physical activity and the encouragement of an active lifestyle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, there is more. In addition to the physical aspects, the WELL Certification also considers the psychological and social dimensions of well-being. It encourages the implementation of policies that promote diversity and inclusion, as well as the creation of spaces dedicated to socialisation and relaxation, with the aim of fostering a sense of community and interaction among colleagues. The Moving Forest<\/strong> and the Italian Zen Garden<\/strong> of eUrban<\/strong><\/a>, situated in front of EuroHive, exemplify this approach. The forest comprises over 400 trees of 25 different species, while the olfactory garden displays aromatic and medicinal herbs. These features enhance the environment, demonstrating a commitment and sensitivity from companies. They also offer competitive advantages, including the attraction of high-level talent and the fostering of a dynamic and collaborative work community.<\/span><\/p>\n
